For any young child then the first 10 or so years of their life is made up of thinking of ways to play and have fun, that is the first thing they want to do when they get home from school. While they can play with just about anything, from cardboard boxes, to mud, to a broom, then the best way to keep them entertained is with proper toys that they can play with safely and have fun with. What are the best things kinds of things to buy though? Below we take a look at 3 types that will give you the most bang for your buck.
Construction toys: If you buy a typical toy, like a toy car, then it only has one thing it can be, and they can quickly get bored of that. If however you buy blocks or LEGO that can be used to build whatever they want, then suddenly a whole new world of possibilities opens up!
So in my opinion that is why if you buy sets of things they can construct whatever they want with, like LEGO or K’nex etc, then you are getting the best value for your money. Then your kids can build whatever they want and have fun building it, then once they have finished they can have fun playing with it too. An interesting idea that was launched recently is the LEGO Hogwarts game where you build the game using the pieces they provide, before you can actually play it.
Puzzles: Games like the ThinkFun Rush Hour game which will tax your child’s brain are something else you should be considering. They usually come with different puzzles that increase in difficulty so you won’t beat them all too quickly. Which means while you child may get stuck on the harder ones then they will keep coming back to it again and again to try and solve them.
Toys for outside: Kids love to be outdoors, so toys that they can play with outside are always going to go down well. The simple ball is a great choice, they can throw them, kick them, bounce them and do all sorts with them, so they will get lots of use over time. However if your child is playing with a ball then you can be sure they will lose it or damage it inn no time, so make sure you buy multiple balls!
Most toys now are really expensive and your kids will get bored with them in 30 minutes and want to move on. If you aim for the toys discussed above then you can be sure they wil keep getting used again and again over the years.
